Although discussion of agenda items and voting are limited to members, those who wish to speak to the District Council may request to be placed on the agenda. Other meeting dates: Feb 23, March 23*, April 27, May 25, June 22* (NOTE: the March- and June meetings is not on the last Tuesday of the month due to holidays.)

7- 9AM Colorado History Museum (1300 Broadway; on 13th between Broadway and Lincoln); $15 pp; Register www.cwlb.org. This is your chance to find out what is happening at the State Capitol that affects women and girls across the state of Colorado. Likely issues include the budget, domestic violence, immigration, unemployment insurance, reproductive health, access to health care, higher education and K-12 education, child welfare and foster care, affirmative action, families in poverty, housing, GLBTQI issues, civil rights and workplace issues.

7:30AM - 3PM Colorado History Museum: 1300 Broadway. This is a great opportunity to discuss the needs of gifted children and to hear from various legislators how the state (through legislation) can also help. This year should be quite interesting given the budget shortfalls and how that will effect education in general. Lunch is included in the registration fee and gives adult advocates, legislators and students time to visit. If you have or know a GT 8th-12th grader who is interested in our legislative process, then don't let them miss this great opportunity to shadow one of Colorado's state senators or representatives.

The purpose of Latina/o Advocacy Day is to provide advocacy/lobby training and briefings on current policy issues such as civil rights/economic justice, the environment, education, immigration and healthcare by and for Latinas and Latinos in Colorado.
· April 23 &24, 2010: Colorado PTA Annual Convention at the Hyatt regency in the Denver Tech Center.
· June 10-13, 2010: 114th Annual PTA National Convention and Exhibition in Memphis, Tennessee.
