Role Definitions: There are three primary school volunteer roles:
- PTA Officers-- Leadership roles driving broader initiatives on behalf of the school/PTA. Yearly commitment and monthly meeting attendance required.
- Coordinators--Manage and implement specific programs on behalf of the school and PTA. Attendance at PTA meetings during program execution is appreciated.
- Volunteers--Play supporting roles to Coordinators and PTA Officers on larger programs or support calls for ad hoc shift or hourly work vs. longer-term program management.
Available Volunteer Positions
Steele Elementary is a wonderful DPS school because of the help and support of parent volunteers both in and outside the classroom. Studies show time and again how parent involvement positively impacts student success. The Steele faculty and PTA work hard to support a variety of ways for parents to be involved. Consider giving some of your time to activities and programs that benefit the greater Steele community and help us create "a culture of vounteerism!"
